My old dog has been starting to gain a lot of weight so I decided I would try out diet dog food. I was a little skeptical at first because I am always weary of diet food. This is because there are always strange ingredients that are replaced in diet food that I think might not be very healthy. I talked to my dog's vet about diet dog food and he said that there were a lot of strange ones out there that were not very good. However he mentioned a few good ones and said that the key to finding good diet dog food was to sift through the ingredients and make sure that there are not any chemicals that are highly synthesized. He gave me a list of chemicals to avoid and a list of possible foods that I should look into. The reason that my dog has started to get so fat I think was because my brother had started to feed my dog table food. He would just dump all the leftovers in the dog's plate and feed it to him everyday. Eventually our dog did not want to eat the food that we were giving him until we got him on a strict diet. After that he ate only dog food but for some reason he was eating a huge amount for it. Maybe it was less satisfying to him than the table food that he was eating before. I searched for the best diet dog food and was very impressed with the selection of diet dog food that I found out there. There were so many varieties of diet dog food that I could hardly decide which ones to take a look at. The problem was also that my dog is so picky so I just hoped that whatever dog food I ended up choosing my dog would actually eat.
